From Radiology to Photography

By day, I explore the intricate world of medical imaging, where attention to detail is key.

This same focus extends into my photography, where I use light, shadow, and composition to tell stories.

While my love for photography began in childhood, it became a serious pursuit in 2020 when I completed a course in Professional Photography, followed by advanced studies in portraiture, wildlife, sports, events, and food photography.
What started as a hobby has grown into a creative passion that allows me to freeze moments and evoke emotions.

Recognition and Achievements

I have had the honor of photographing talented local dancers, with many of these portraits showcased in my portfolio.

My work has been recognized by the Photographic Society of South Africa, earning myLPSSA, APSSA and DPSSA (Colour and mono) distinctions, along with several international salon awards. and medals.

Join Me on This Journey

About Mia Joubert

A Radiologist’s Gaze Through the Lens of Creativity

I’m Mia Joubert, a radiologist by profession, wife, and mother to two wonderful boys.

My passion for photography blends the precision of my medical work with the beauty and emotion of art.

My Creative Focus

I am drawn to capturing the grace and energy of dance, the intimate allure of boudoir, and the raw emotion of portraits.

Dance photography, in particular, holds a special place in my heart as it celebrates the fluidity and athletic beauty of movement.

In 2022, I attended the renowned Pas de Deux Dance Photography Conference in Austin, Texas, learning from iconic photographers like Sharkcookie (David Hofmann), Lois Greenfield, and Andrew Eccles.

This experience connected me with the global dance photography community and deepened my dedication to this art form.
